Background
The GCC Technical Regulation on Children’s Toys, BD 131704-01, is designed to ensure a high level of protection for the health and safety of consumers, and to establish a legislative framework for any toy placed on the GCC market. Since it came into force on July 15, 2015, toys destined for sale in any GCC member state must conform to the Regulation.
The Gulf Conformity Tracking Symbol (GCTS), a symbol provided by the GSO, consists of the Gulf Conformity Mark, a three-digit notified body number and a QR Code. The GCTS is required to demonstrate compliance with GSO Toys Technical Regulation (GTTR) especially in Saudi Arabia.
